What is the Tall Ships Races?
The Tall Ships Races is Europe's largest free public event and youth sailing race, aiming to promote international friendship, cooperation, and sail training for young people.
According to the rules, at least half of the crew on each vessel must be young people between 15 and 25 years old. The other half can be adventurous sailors over 25. No prior experience is needed – an enthusiastic attitude and team spirit are enough!
What is required to participate?
- ✓Age Limits: Generally 15–25 years old (up to half of the crew can be over 25).
- ✓Passport & ID: A valid passport or ID card is required for all journeys. Written guardian consent is required for participants under 18.
- ✓Attitude: Willingness to learn sailing, act as part of the ship's community, and participate in ship work (including watch shifts and galley duty).
